A new WhatsApp scam has emerged under which an account that seems to pretend as an official communication source from the WhatsApp technical team asks users to share their verification code. “Wait, were you born on ? LUISFE! I can not believe it! I am Mateo! In from Colombia in 2002! Hahaha what a coincidence !!! Do you remember? ”, Simulates the Twitter user. Mateo tries to improvise and pretends to know him. When the supposed “lost luggage attendant” tries to introduce himself, he sends him a photograph of his card with the airline logo, your name, your photo and your title. He asks about it, but they do not answer him and they ask again if he knows anything about lost luggage and about Flight 277. The strange thing is that this last number, supposedly from the Los Angeles airport, is a number with a Bolivian prefix. They try to call him but Mateo tries to evade the calls and replies that he is in the bathroom and would like to continue the conversation by messages. A third number comes into play and he writes him on behalf of “Avianca Airlines” because his aunt has supposedly left them her phone number.
